No cancellations or closures at this time.
When is the decision made to close a SACC location for power, weather, etc.? Is there a phone number we can call to find out what locations are closed as it is updated. Without power and without a Smart Phone, we were not able to check our email until 3 PM Sunday (when our power came back on).
There was a SACC staff member onsite to explain there was no power and this was appreciated 🙂 The list of schools without power and closed from the email sent Sunday, 7/1/12 at 9:41 PM shows the following without power. Parklawn was not listed as a closed SACC location:

Pine Spring ES / Summer SACC was closed today (Mon. 7/2), but it was NOT listed on the FCPS closings page. Will they be open tomorrow?
Thanks to the kind staff who weren’t sure if they needed to go in to work and who stayed to speak with confused parents!

NOTE: I tried calling this number yesterday and heard a recorded message asking me to call back during business hours.
I apologize for the confusion. We have had some intermittent technical interruptions of phone service and access to update websites. This emergency blog is the best place to check for updates.
Do we have an update on power at Falls Church and South County Human Services buildings?
The Falls Church District Office is closed and the South County Human Services Building is open. Facility status information is available at https://fairfaxcountyemergency.wordpress.com/status-cancellations-and-closures/
I searched, but maybe I missed it; is there a link to see which rec centers are open? Thanks.
The Park Authority link lists the status of RECenters and other facilities http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/
Hunter Mill Road is now open? It’s not on your list of Roads Impact by Storm Damage. It was closed last night at 6:30pm.
They should be on the list. The most recent list was just posted at https://fairfaxcountyemergency.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/update-roads-impacted-by-storm-damage/
I tried to go to my watercolor class tonight at Centreville High, but the doors were locked. Was there a class or not? I asked the teacher last week if there was going to be class (this before the storm) and she said yes. I would like to know how to get into the school so next time I will get there. How do I make it up? I really was looking forward to it.
I would like to kindly be informed whether the Fairfax General District court will be closed tomorrow, because I have to appear tomorrow @ 9:00 AM 1/22/2014 Wednesday . thank you….
Nice article I just read, this had everything covered.
