Fairfax County Trash Collection Postponed Until Next Week; Private Haulers May Also have Changes
Posted at 12:18 p.m.
Due to unsafe road conditions, trash and recycling collection for Fairfax County customers on Thursday and Friday collection routes will be postponed until the next scheduled collection date (Thursday, Feb. 20, or Friday, Feb. 21, as applicable). Questions may be directed to the Customer Service Center at 703-802-3322, TTY 711.
Our collection crews are currently assisting with the county’s snow removal operations and will resume normal service as road conditions allow. At this time, there are no schedule changes for customers receiving service Monday through Wednesday.
The impact of the recent snowfall may also be affecting the operations of private trash and recycling collectors. Customers of private service providers should contact their trash and recycling collector directly for any changes in service. Contact information for private trash and recycling collectors operating in Fairfax County is available online.
If your trash collection service has been postponed until another day please remove your trash containers from the curb in order to enhance the effectiveness of snow clearing operations and to avoid having your containers damaged or buried in snowbanks.
