Weather Update: 4-6 Inches of Snow Still in Forecast

Posted at 5:15 a.m.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. this afternoon. A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow will make travel hazardous.

Snow, heavy at times, could perhaps be mixed with sleet at the onset of the precipitation with snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches in the forecast.

The latest weather update from the National Weather Service indicates the start of the heaviest snowfall this morning in Fairfax County will be between 7-10 a.m., with the possibility of 1-2 inches of snowfall per hour. The storm should be mostly done around noon.

Heaviest snowfall scheduled between 7-10 am which is right when jurors have to be on the road. Not happy Fairfax County, not happy at all.

You are correct. I am supposed to report for jury selection this morning. Left my house at 6:40 AM, and was sliding a bit, so decided to return home before road conditions worsened, I don’t know why the Courts have not acted to close as yet.
