Going to the “Storm by the Numbers’ site, I couldn’t find out if county government offices, including the library system, are open today, Tuesday, Oct. 30. Also, I checked the county Home Page without success.

I am visiting relatives here in Oakton and must congratulate Fairfax County Emergency Services on your excellent, diligent and very detailed blog. The updates came just when we needed them and kept us informed right throughout the storm.Your patience with people wanting unreasonable efforts from you ,when keeping abreast of each and every tree down, line down etc must be a nightmare, is to be commended.
You even found time to give us a driving lesson when the traffic lights went out!
Thank you one and all! I’ll be singing your praises when I return to Australia!
