Whee! A trophy for everyone! You’ve been a VERY good helper! Only 30 minutes after wtop.com had it up on their site (oh, and let’s not forget your inamorato/a, Facebook — you did that TOO), you managed to squeeze out a nice block of text on your official site. MUCH happiness. We’re all so proud. Get it together, folks. We need you to have it together. Now is a good time to start.

What about Fairfax County Public Libraries? Are they open or closed tomorrow? The library site does not specify.

    • STS says :

The library is closed when Fairfax County Government Offices are closed. Library staff are county employees and are granted administrative leave just like all other non-emergency non-FCPS employees.

This still does not clearly explain whether trash pickup is on or not

  6. Russ says :

Trash will or will not be picked up? Trash cans and recycle barrels tied down here. Would like to know.

    • Bob says :

You must have missed the section about trash. Scroll up and read again.

      • Russ says :

Thanks Bob…. So they WILL be picking up trash and recycles during the building storm even though all the office inside workers will be staying home.? Got it thanks again.

      • KT says :

Maybe I’m just dumb, but I still don’t get it. My trash is usually collected on Mondays, but my area is not in color on the map in the link. Does this mean I do not live in a designated “sanitary district”? If I don’t live in a sanitary district, will my trash NOT be picked up?

  7. PD says :

Is the Fairfax County Health Department considered a government office? Will the health department be closed tomorrow?

  8. AC says :

Anyone know about government agencies? Does that imply to those as well? What does administrative leave means?

    • fairfaxcounty says :

Emergency Administrative Leave authorizes all merit County employees to remain home from work or to leave work early without prior approval of the supervisor and without the use of personal leave or leave without pay.
