Tornado Watch Until 9 p.m; Street Flooding Possible
Structural flooding is not anticipated in the Huntington or Belle View/New Alexandria areas as a result of thunderstorms currently moving through the area and predicted to continue through 9 p.m.
Street flooding may occur in the Huntington area, as well as localized street flooding in the Belle View/New Alexandria area. County staff will continue to monitor the storm this evening.
A tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 9 p.m. tonight. In the event of a tornado warning:
- Go immediately to the lowest level of your building to an interior room or hallway.
- Storm cellars or basements provide the best protection.
- Stay away from windows and doorways.
