No Recreational Water Use in Gunston Cove Area Until Further Notice
Fairfax County is closing the waterways in the Gunston Cove area to recreational water use, including kayaking, fishing and swimming, until further notice. The waterways may be impacted by run off from a ruptured sanitary sewer line near Route 1 and Colchester Road in the Fort Belvoir area. Repairs on the sewer line will take a couple days and signs will be placed Saturday morning in the area to alert residents. County personnel are monitoring the waterways.
