The Morning Commute (10:50 p.m.)

Portions of Fairfax County continue to receive heavy rain and roads are flooded throughout the county. The National Weather Service predicts more significant rainfall amounts beginning in the next hour.

The Morning Commute

Please plan on your normal route, but it may be disrupted by debris, damaged roads and other issues. Please allow extra time to travel. DO NOT drive through water on the roads.  If possible, please consider working from home.

Driving Tips

  • State law requires headlights to be on when windshield wipers are in use.
  • Slow your speed for weather and road conditions – and be watchful for fallen trees, power lines, debris and other hazards that may get blown onto or fall across a roadway.
  • Increase distances between vehicles.
  • Buckle up and don’t drive distracted.

Is this vague or what? In other words, try to make it to work no matter how many times you are detoured and just hope for the best? Doesn’t make much sense to me, but I will give it the “ol collage try” and hope for the best. My vehicle and I PLOW through the unknown. FYI, I may be late, but will be there!

Obviously you didn’t read. Maybe you should go back to COLLEGE (not collage) and learn? They said to work from home if at all possible. Be a defensive driver and avoid making careless mistakes, like plowing through anything. It’s not vague. It’s for people who lack common sense. It’s not like they already know all the roads that will be unusable for the morning commute. It’s people like you that should seriously stay home and not endanger everyone else.

JB…..Are you always an arrogant ass?

        • DMN says :

Correction: I assumed an arrogant ass. However, my intention was to ask….What ‘Charm School’ did YOU attend? Please, accept my apologies. I suggest everyone stay home. It is not worth the price. I don’t think the USA will fall apart. Enjoy the 3 day weekend. Take Care.

JB, there is no need to berate this person. This IS vague. And the comment is being sarcastic about plowing into unknown.
