Closings Status for Monday, Dec. 9

The Fairfax County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court will be closed today, Monday, Dec. 9.

Also closed today is Fairfax County Public Schools as well as School Age Child Care (SACC) centers.

Because the schools are closed, Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) events, scheduled classes and Drop-in Group Fitness classes held at RECenters or other FCPA facilities are canceled. FCPA winter camps held at RECenters or FCPA facilities are canceled, and Parks classes held at school locations, senior centers or community centers are canceled. Preschool programs at Lee District and Spring Hill will not operate. However, Park Authority facilities will remain open. Unscheduled Leave

Fairfax County Government offices will be open on Monday, Dec. 9, however employees have been granted unscheduled leave.

Federal agencies in the Washington, D.C., area are open under 2 hours delayed arrival and employees have the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.

    My hearing in JDR court today has been cancelled. Who do I contact for rescheduling? How soon will it be able to be placed back on the docket?

    What is the policy for senior centers? I don’t see that listed. It should be before us older people venture out in this weather.
